I had been in severe back pain for a number of years and having gone down the route of various treatments including steroid injections and then Nerve ablation (which helped temporarily) the pain became so intense I knew I needed to look for a reputable surgeon. I identified Mr George Spink through my research and by speaking to people who had been treated by him as one of the best neurosurgeons. When I first met George Spink I liked him straight away. He was kind courteous and caring and he listened to my long list of questions which he answered professionally sympathetically and with understanding and he was very open and honest in his responses. After a few meetings with him I took the next step and decided to go ahead with the surgery which was carried out at The Spire in Anlaby. My treatment was impeccable by the Spire and its staff and of course by George Spink. The procedure was to fuse L4 & L5 of my spine and remove the disc and replace it with a titanium cage and screws. Also a large cyst was removed. He visited me prior to my surgery and after the surgery and held my hand while he explained everything had gone well. He also visited me the following morning before I left the hospital. I am now nerve pain free and am able to get on with my life again. I owe it to the care consideration and skill of George Spink. He is a truly gifted surgeon and has given me my life back and I can dance again.. I would whole heartedly recommend George Spink to anyone considering treatment of this nature. Catherine Lewak

The one person I want to bring to light is Wendy one of the Physios I first met her in May when did the instructions we needed to do after our operation. Having to wait till the 23rd of August. So when the room door open it was a nice surprise when Wendy walked in. She as a very professional approach to the patient along with a fantastic sense of humour. The score you can give is 5 but I'd score her 10. Thanks for being you Wendy

Everyone was so friendly and caring from the consultant down to the cleaning staff The hospital was clean and tidy I cannot think of anything negative about the hospital or my stay Thanks

I had spinal surgery last November and Mr spinks did the operation and now I can walk again I am so grateful to everyone at the spire for everything they did for me I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone, the only problem I had was getting locked out of the online account and to this day I still can't get back into it and have tried everything. I have been an inpatient on 2 occasions for 2 hip replacements. On both occasions the staff were wonderful, caring and attentive. I had no concerns about hygiene, I felt safe and was very well looked after, with kindness and consideration from all of the staff I saw.

Easy to find and navigate around. Plenty of staff to welcome you and help you with mobility issues. I was able to be dropped off at the door, parking close was difficult but there was ample shelter whilst waiting for my husband to return. Waiting area very comfortable.
