I was admitted on Friday 3rd May for a partial knee replacement with Mr Patel. All the staff, both medical and housekeeping, were excellent and I was looked after extremely well. When I was taken to theatre everyone was very reassuring. There was a problem with administering the spinal anaesthetic, but the theatre nurse was very supportive of what was a rather difficult and uncomfortable procedure. After that I remember no more until I awoke in recovery. Again the care was excellent. I had a setback on the following day which resulted in my going back on oxygen briefly, but after that everything went smoothly up to, and including my discharge as planned. All the ward staff were cheerful and responsive to my needs The housekeeping staff were cheerful and I was kept well supplied with coffee. The meals were lovely, like a high class restaurant and beautifully presented. Sam Hobday was the discharge nurse and she made sure I had everything in terms of medication and instructions for returning home. I have no hesitation in recommending One Ashford and should I need another knee replacement shall definitely ask to have my NHS operation there.
